Lucky Art is an independent record label based in the UK, brought to you by members of the band Lakes. The label is inspired by growing up in the thriving Watford alternative music scene, where going to gigs on Friday and Saturday nights not only opened our minds to a world of musical possibilities in punk, hardcore, metal and emo, but also provided a community and sense of belonging that enabled the three of us to become lifelong friends. Our band and our record label would not exist without NAM, Ghymp, Incoherence, SikTh, Husk, Neverthemore, Cryforsilence, Aconite Thrill, The Blue Rooms, Watford Rugby Club and so many other bands, venues and legends. The name “Lucky Art” is taken from a song by our Watford musical hero Kev Banks who is sadly no longer with us, but who will always be remembered - endlessly talented and inspiring. With this label we hope to continue the legacy of the Watford music scene and play a very small part in supporting the worldwide “DIY” music community.

The first release on Lucky Art is the fourth LP from Lakes, “Slow Fade”, in collaboration with Big Scary Monsters.
